At Wai- Wai Dining, we offer an izakaya- style dining experience with individual booths and a Japanese- style private room available by reservation, with Shabu Shabu Hotpot, Yakiniku BBQ, Tonkatsu and Izakaya fare on the menu.
The menu features top-grade A5 Wagyu from Kagoshima, which is the current champion Wagyu Brand in Japan. Our Australian Wagyu and beef line-up consists of selected prime cuts from leading growers, with our main supplier being the award winning Jacks Creek from Tamworth in NSW. Our pork is sourced from premium Australian Pork brands.
We serve our carefully selected produce at our restaurant in Southport on the Gold Coast, where you can enjoy Shabu Shabu (hot pot), Yakiniku (BBQ), Tonkatsu (crumbed and fried pork), as well as an Izakaya- inspired food and drink menu.
Owner Yoshi is a meat- trader involved in exports, distribution, processing, retail sales and most recently, import and sales of Japanese Wagyu. With years of experience in the industry and most importantly, a love and passion for top- quality beef, Yoshi hopes to share his passion with our friends on and visitors to the Gold Coast.
Chef/Manager Taka began his career in one of Japan’s leading hospitality groups in Tokyo, working in ethnic Asian and Japanese restaurants. After several years living and working in the area, Taka is now well and truly a Southport local, and has been heading up the Wai-Wai Dining team for the past year.
