Suminoya is a Japanese yakiniku restaurant that is located at Martin Place in Sydney’s CBD. This restaurant is well known for being a true authentic Japanese style BBQ, and has been around since the year 2000. If you like cooking your own food on a BBQ grill, this is somewhere you should definitely eat!
If you sign up as a Washoku Lovers member, you’ll get access to great benefits at our partnered restaurants. Redeem your online coupon from the Suminoya restaurant page and show your phone to staff to receive an extra meat dish when you order the BBQ set meal for lunch from Monday to Wednesday. If you’re feeling extra hungry, upgrade your 4 choice BBQ set to 5 choices! The set meal is accompanied by a bowl of rice, a Japanese style salad, and miso soup. Add a scoop of ice cream after your BBQ to really feel satisfied.
This time, I picked Wagyu Beef Loin, Wagyu Beef Rib and Wagyu Beef Harami. As you can see from the picture the meats are served raw and you can tell how fresh the cuts are. You’re able to grill your meat how you like it, so you’ll never have to worry about an overcooked meal.
Each of the cuts will vary in the length of time it takes to cook, and it also varies according to person preference. For example, ox tongue will only need a small amount of time because it is very thinly sliced. Thicker cuts of meat, like the wagyu, takes more time. Don’t get distracted though, because it still takes only about a minute to cook, be careful not to burn your lunch!
Once it finished cooking you can finally enjoy the meal! I guarantee you, the taste is amazing as the meat is very tender and juicy, it will melt in your mouth. My personal recommendation is if you plan on coming to eat at Suminoya, and make sure that your stomach is empty first that way you can eat a lot of the delicious meat 🙂
